How to choose a podcast studio in Bangkok.
We run one of them, so read this knowing that. What follows is the advice we give people who message us and turn out to be a better fit somewhere else — because a booking that goes wrong costs us more than the session was worth.
Price
The hourly rate is the least useful number.
Published rates around Bangkok run from roughly ฿1,450 to ฿6,000 an hour, and some studios quote per session instead. Those figures are not comparable, because they cover wildly different things.

A ฿2,300 room where you bring your own operator and edit it yourself is not cheaper than a ฿4,000 session with both included. It is a different product.
Booking model
Hourly and per-session suit different shows.
Hourly is better when
- You batch
- Recording four episodes in one afternoon makes the per-episode cost collapse.
- You bring your own crew
- If you have an operator and an editor already, you are buying a room, and a room should be priced by the hour.
- The shoot is unusual
- A live audience, a product shoot, a long-form interview that might run over.
Per session is better when
- You publish one episode at a time
- A fixed price for a fixed outcome, with no clock changing how you talk.
- You are new to this
- First sessions run long. Nobody does their best thinking while watching a meter.
- You want the video finished
- Editing bundled into a session price is easier to budget than an hourly rate plus a post-production quote.
We price per session, which is a real bias — we think it suits most people making a show on a schedule. If you are batching eight episodes in a day, an hourly studio will probably cost you less.
Cameras
How many cameras you actually need.
- One cameraFine for a solo talking-head video. The cut will be static, which is acceptable if the content carries it.
- Two camerasA wide and a close. Lets an editor cut on a beat so a 40-minute episode does not feel like a security tape.
- Three camerasNecessary once you have more than one guest. Every speaker needs their own angle or the edit cannot follow the conversation.
More cameras is not automatically better. Three cameras with nobody switching between them is three files an editor has to sync and charge you for.
The person in the room
A studio without an operator is a room rental.
This is the single biggest difference between two studios at the same price, and the hardest to see on a website.
An operator sets your levels, runs the cameras, and watches the recording while it happens. Without one, a microphone that drifts, a card that fills, or a light that shifts halfway through is discovered in the edit — when the guest has gone home. Ask directly: is someone in the room for the whole session, and is that included?
Location
Where the studio is decides who says yes.
Most Bangkok podcast studios cluster along the Sukhumvit line. The practical question is not distance from you — it is distance from the guests you want.

A guest with a full calendar will cancel on a studio that costs them an hour each way. Weigh that against a lower hourly rate before you book on price alone.
