How to choose a podcast studio in Bangkok.
We run one of them, so read this knowing that. What follows is the advice we give people who message us and turn out to be a better fit somewhere else — because a booking that goes wrong costs us more than the session was worth.
Price
The hourly rate is the least useful number.
Published rates around Bangkok run from roughly ฿1,450 to ฿6,000 an hour, and Those figures are not comparable, because they cover wildly different things.

A ฿2,300 room where you bring your own operator and edit it yourself is not cheaper than a ฿4,000 hour with both included. It is a different product.
What the rate covers
Two studios can quote the same number for very different things.
Almost every studio in Bangkok quotes by the hour, so the number looks comparable. It usually is not. The question that decides which one is actually cheaper is what the hour contains — and the gap between a room and a finished episode is bigger than the gap between any two hourly rates.
Inside the rate here
- An operator
- Someone runs the cameras and the sound for the whole booking. You never touch the gear, and there is no separate crew line.
- The room, lit and mic’d before you arrive
- Setup happens before your hour starts rather than inside it.
- Every camera on the set
- Two or three bodies depending on the room, not one angle with the others quoted as extras.
Usually quoted on top elsewhere
- The operator
- Plenty of rooms are self-service. If you cannot run a Rodecaster and three cameras yourself, that is a person you have to hire.
- Extra cameras
- A base rate often covers one angle. Multicam is a line item.
- Editing
- Almost always a separate quote, and the one most likely to arrive larger than expected.
- Overruns
- Ask what happens at the end of the hour. This is where hourly bookings get expensive, ours included.
We charge ฿3,990 to ฿7,990 an hour depending on the tier, VAT included, with the operator and the room inside that. Compare it against someone else’s rate only after you have added back whatever they bill separately.
Cameras
How many cameras you actually need.
- One cameraFine for a solo talking-head video. The cut will be static, which is acceptable if the content carries it.
- Two camerasA wide and a close. Lets an editor cut on a beat so a 40-minute episode does not feel like a security tape.
- Three camerasNecessary once you have more than one guest. Every speaker needs their own angle or the edit cannot follow the conversation.
More cameras is not automatically better. Three cameras with nobody switching between them is three files an editor has to sync and charge you for.
The person in the room
A studio without an operator is a room rental.
This is the single biggest difference between two studios at the same price, and the hardest to see on a website.
An operator sets your levels, runs the cameras, and watches the recording while it happens. Without one, a microphone that drifts, a card that fills, or a light that shifts halfway through is discovered in the edit — when the guest has gone home. Ask directly: is someone in the room for the whole session, and is that included?
Location
Where the studio is decides who says yes.
Most Bangkok podcast studios cluster along the Sukhumvit line. The practical question is not distance from you — it is distance from the guests you want.

A guest with a full calendar will cancel on a studio that costs them an hour each way. Weigh that against a lower hourly rate before you book on price alone.
